What are the synthetic materials commonly used in shoes ?

P.U :
Polyurethane.
It is the most dense, durable and stable midsole material.

T.R :
Thermoplastic rubber.
 
E.V.A : It is soft, light and flexible. Being the most affordable midsole material available it is often used in entry-level shoes like thongs.
 
What are the different types of leather commonly used in shoes  ?

Smooth leather
has a soft structured surface with small pores, can be finished in satin or gloss.

Lacquered leather hide with a smooth and highly glossy surface; surface is prone to mechanical damage, chemical impact, infusion and frost.

Nubuck a hide with suede-like finish; leaves marks even after a soft touch of fingers or other objects; marks are removable by brushing.

Bottom leatheris a type of leather used for soles of formal footwear, very prone to moisture and uneven surface. Embossed leather (printed).
