Bata India's super day

Bata organized a “Super Day” for more than 100 children, responding to an appeal from Dhanpota Marudyan, a charitable Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which runs a school in rural Mograhat, Bengal. The children were taken on a tour of the Batanagar factory, offered lunch and each received a pair of shoes. Prior to the ‘Super Day’ Bata India sponsored a sports and cultural program at Dhanpota Marudyan Primary and Junior High schools. The event had a festive ambiance with Bata banners and streamers and the nearly 400 school children wore Bata vests.

When the Sabera Foundation, an NGO engaged in working with under privileged female children in Kolkata, appealed for shoes, Bata India readily obliged and the children were delighted to receive the donation. Bata India, represented by the South Retail Manager Mr. Ranjoy Sengupta, personally went to the school to distribute the 471 pairs of shoes and 480 pairs of socks to Udavam Karangal, an NGO which runs a school in Chennai.
