Bata and Care are working together to help increase the income generating capacity of rural womens as well as to create new job opportunities, through the sale of Bata products offering door to door service in the rural areas of the Country.
How it is implemented on the field:
• The Self-help groups form a Cooperative Business Unit (CBU). • The CBU selects a leader who interacts with Bata depot, maintains the necessary documents & books of accounts. • The CBU is functional & provides support to group members. • Bata provides the necessary trade credit, training support, POP materials & delivery of products in time. • Care provides credit guarantee, training & support services to the self-help groups.
In 2006, thanks to the successful results of the first year partnership, Bata and Care decided to expand the program from the existing 50 to 1,000 women initially which will be further expanded in future. |
